Hi Friends!
If you’re a GVSU senior (or know one graduating soon), you already know how beautiful the Allendale campus is. I’ve photographed so many seniors here over the years, and these are the five spots I always go back to because they actually look amazing in photos! They also flow together really well, so we can make a nice, easy loop around campus without rushing all over!
The Clocktower
This is almost always my first stop. It has that classic, timeless look, and you’re constantly walking past it, so it feels natural! It also makes the perfect meeting point to start our session!
The GVSU Letters
Just a short walk from the clocktower, these big letters are such a fun, iconic spot. It can get busy, so while we’re at the clocktower I usually keep an eye out for a quiet moment. I love playing with different angles here, and it’s the perfect place for a champagne pop or confetti popper if you want to celebrate!
The Blue Bridge
This iconic bridge is one of the most recognized spots on campus. It has beautiful views of the river and gives that classic “GVSU” feeling. I always offer it as an option so you can decide if it feels right for your session!
The Transformational Link
This is one of my favorite spots for cap-tossing shots because the tall artwork gives you so much height and drama. Right next to it are the gardens, and if the flowers are blooming, it makes the most beautiful natural scenery!
The Pond in front of Zumberge Hall
I love ending the session here. It has a calmer, more nature-y feel with the water and scattered trees, which makes a nice contrast to the busier campus spots. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the session and gives us a nice little loop back to where we started!
These five spots give you a great mix of classic campus vibes and pretty nature moments. Of course, if there’s somewhere else on campus you’ve always wanted photos at, we can easily add it in!
